“Permission To Enter” Show Image – Augmented Reality T-Shirt

This is the official show image for Daniel Leighton’s 2015 solo show Permission To Enter.

Artist Daniel Leighton’s solo exhibition Permission to Enter, is a technological portal to another dimension. According to Leighton, the necessity to have a space in which to process physical and emotional responses to constant stimuli is paramount. Using iPad paintings and his Augmented Reality app, Leighton explores the concept of granting access to our hearts, minds, and bodies along with technological extensions of ourselves. Leighton posits that the choice of granting or not granting “permission to enter” is primary to symbiotic human interaction.

“Opening Up” – T-Shirt

“The privilege of a lifetime is being who you are.” – Joseph Campbell

Opening Up is one of Daniel's signature pieces. In his Huffington Post blog, Daniel wrote that Opening Up, “represents a moment in time during the process of transformation. The figure in the painting is exposing himself, opening up his wound and finding beauty and treasure where there had once been pain and agony. He is opening himself up now, whereas in the past he had been opened by others.”
